Equity Commercial was founded in 1993 by Kent Pierce and Jim Bilicki—two of the best-known people in Ventura County commercial real estate.


Kent and Jim began working together in 1988 at Grubb & Ellis in the Ventura County office. They worked together for several years until Jim left Grubb & Ellis in 1992 to manage a growing commercial properties portfolio.


A year or two later they were having lunch one day (they had remained close even after Jim’s departure from Grubb & Ellis) and Kent began detailing some of the changes at Grubb & Ellis that he felt were not in his best interest or the best interest of the company.


It was then and there that they came up with the idea of a full-service commercial real estate services firm: management, brokerage and consultation.


Together they formed one of the strongest commercial real estate coalitions in Southern California. A group whose depth of capabilities encompass office, industrial and commercial management, commercial and industrial brokerage and consultation services to owners and developers.




Equity Commercial maintains the highest level of professionalism in the marketplace. It's reflected in everything we do. When we're marketing, leasing, selling or managing your property, or representing your interests as a tenant or buyer, we consider ourselves an extension of our clients.


You don't have to take our word for it, ask some of our other clients. Most of them have been with us for a very long time. We don't cross bridges and then burn them to cross the next one. Not satisfied to rest on our laurels, in 2014 Equity Commercial formed a strategic alliance with Steve Nishi and Center Commercial Realty Advisors to better serve the needs of retail property owners and tenants.  Equity Commercial is now positioned to serve all types of commercial property owners, sellers, buyers and tenants throughout Ventura County and Southern California:  Industrial, Office, Retail and Investment.
